WAITING LIST OPEN
Sophia and Jennean, two friends who once shared the halls of Foothill High School in Sacramento, California, went their separate ways following graduation, in 1984, only to be brought back together years later by what they believe was a divine connection.
As they reconnected, they discovered that their lives had unfolded along strikingly parallel paths, each marked by deep trauma within relationships and family. Both endured the profound pain of losing a sibling around the same time, a loss that shaped their perspectives and strengthened their sisterhood. Jennean's oldest sister, INez, and Sophia's elder brother, HERman, each faced battles with substance use, homelessness, and mental health challenges, often navigating these hardships with little support or resources, and each succumbing to their addiction.
United through their shared loss and experiences, Sophia and Jennean vowed to make a difference and began serving their community through various outreach efforts, offering compassion to those often overlooked.
Determined to turn pain into purpose, they made a powerful commitment: to open their homes to individuals marginalized by the woes of society. From that promise, the InHer Community Housing Project was born—a testament to their journey, their faith, and their unwavering dedication to uplifting others.
